What are the best ways to use the product?
Our customers use the product in many ways. Our nozzle
can be sprayed in any direction. This allows the ability to
lay a scent trail by holding the can upside down and
spraying the foliage on the way to your stand. If you are
hunting a fixed position stand in the afternoon, we
recommend placing the product on the ground and setting it
off. If you are hunting a climbing stand or are hunting in the
AM, we recommend taking the product into the stand with
you. The Buck Bomb Hammock is an accessory that holds
the can and can be attached to your rope/hoist line enabling
you to lower the can to the ground as it is dispersing. The
reason for this is that if deer are close, they tend to respond
to The Buck Bomb quickly and you don’t want them on top
of you before you are ready to shoot or before it is light
enough to see.
It is often very cold during our season, what effect does this
have on your product?
This is a great question and one we address often. We have
tested the product at very low temperatures and it has not frozen.
What happens, however, is that the propellant in the can shrinks,
which decreases the pressure, needed to expel the scent. You
want to keep the product indoors the night before you hunt and
then keep it inside your jacket until you are ready to use it. The
warmer it is, the better it works. A great way to heat it up is to put
it on your dashboard and let the defrost run for 10 minutes while
you are driving.
Do you have products for other species?
Yes, we do. Last year we introduced a product for Sika Deer, and
at this year's Archery Trade Association Show in Atlanta, GA we
introduced our lines for Elk, Bear, and Predators. The following
scents are currently shipping:
Bear, Anise Oil, Hickory, Smoked Bacon, Beaver Castor, Sow in
Heat, Predator, Coyote Urine, Fox Urine, Fawn Urine, Elk, Cow in
Heat, Dominant Bull.
Where can I purchase your products?
Our products are available on www.huntmdown.com and on the
web. If you local shop isn’t stocking a particular product you are
interested in, contact www.huntmdown.com and they will be
glad to get some information for you.
Where are your products made?
We are proud to say that our products are made in the USA.
Most of our scents come from Pennsylvania and our production
facilities are located in PA and Delaware. The Buck Bomb
headquarters is located on the eastern shore of Maryland, in
Denton.

Is it advantageous to use more than one scent at a time?
It certainly can be. Often, it is helpful to create a “scent
scenario” in the woods. An example would be to use a
combination of Young Buck and Doe in Estrus. You could
spray a scent trail with both together, or spray down your area
with young buck and set-off an estrus can. You would be trying
to get a more mature buck upset that he was missing out on
some action and hope he would respond quickly, with his
guard 0 down. There are many examples of this that have been
effective for our customers.
I had a can left over from last year, should I throw it
away? Definitely Not! Since The Buck Bomb is manufactured
in an aerosol format, no oxygen is introduced to the scent and
no sunlight can penetrate the can.
What this means is that we have a 3-year shelf life, unlike
many of the other scent products on the market that
quickly turn to ammonia.
What is a Buck Bomb? Two ounces of pure urine
manufactured in an aerosol spray that can be
partially depressed to release the product in bursts
or can be locked down to fog out the entire two
ounces.
Does it work better than a liquid scent? Absolutely!
For the following reasons:
1. Coverage - We are essentially turning the urine into a
gas cloud that will drift in excess of ¼ mile in a 3 M.P.H.
breeze. The fine particulate emitted by the custom nozzle
will attach to leaves, trees, and brush as it blows through
the woods. It is impossible for a liquid, solid, or gel scent
to duplicate this large broadcast area.
2. Ease of use – You cannot spill a Buck Bomb in your
truck or hunting bag. You do not have to handle messy
wicks or drags. You simply depress the nozzle away
from your face and let the product go. No more
guesswork or the need to walk all over your hunting area
to hang wicks. Our product is simple, portable, and
disposable.
3. Cost effectiveness – Unlike liquids, the 2 oz. scent
will actually be broadcast out to the animal. The whole
point is for the deer to smell the scent and The Buck
Bomb does this far more effectively than any other scent
system.
4. Cover capability – In addition to being a great
attractant, The Buck Bomb always provides incredible
cover scent. By completely covering the hunter’s
downwind side, our product allows him more opportunity
to see game that may have otherwise avoided the area.
The Young Buck and Doe P should be used from the
opening day of bow season right up to the pre-rut.
5. Increased opportunity – Since you learned to “hunt
with the wind”, you may avoid certain stands or areas
when you feel the wind isn’t just right. Because of the
Buck Bomb’s cover capability and downrange
effectiveness you may reconsider this strategy. It can be
the perfect tool to use on the edge of thick cover when the
wind is blowing back into the area. Many times, a large
buck will be drawn in to investigate before shooting light
expires.
Do you only have one scent? No, we offer 5 whitetail
scents, 4 are pure urines:
- Doe in Estrus – harvested during the estrus cycle
and best used during pre-rut and rut.
- Dominant Buck – harvested from 3 ½ + year old
bucks and best used during rut and pre-rut to
encourage dominant behavior from mature bucks.
- Vanilla Curiosity (non-urine) – great all around
scent that peaks the natural curiosity of deer and
provides excellent cover scent.
Now this revolutionary scent dispersal system is available for Bear, Hog, Elk, Moose, Muley and Predator hunting so you
can achieve all your hunting goals. The Buck Bomb folks have created a complete line of big game bombs that also
provide unequaled dispersion and broadcasts a range of different scents for a cost-effective solution to landing that trophy.
