SCENT-AMMO® has provided the following table information on numerous scents they have tested with
SCENT-AMMO®. This document is not an endorsement of any scent. Nor, is it meant to be critical of any scent. It is
presented to be helpful for the consumer to anticipate results when using SCENT-AMMO® with many of the different
scents that are on the market. It was originally developed to improve the effectiveness of Scent Ammo® deer urine.
But, it will absorb ammonia in any urine scent.

A Note of Caution When Reading This Chart:
If a scent manufacturer added salt to the urine scent as a preservative or attractant, salt will slow down the
process of Ammonia removal. It will require more SCENT-AMMO® and take additional time to remove the
ammonium ions in the scent. Salt, such as Sodium Benzoate, will change the " electron charge" of the
urine. If the scent manufacturer added an acid to their scent, it will automatically form a salt in the urine,
because adding an acid to a base (broken down urine) always forms a salt.
In 2001, we've actually doubled the amount of SCENT-AMMO® in our packaging to ensure that consumers
have enough SCENT-AMMO® to repair a scent that has salt added by the manufacturer. Some scent
manufacturers say their product is 100% urine with no preservatives or additives...Some of them must mean
they are 100% urine that is preserved with Sodium Benzoate or other salt.
Because some scent manufacturers purchase urine in bulk, they may not even know the deer
farmer/farmers, which they purchase from, puts a preservative into the urine. We found one deer farmer that
collects and bottles urine for a well-known national company... The deer farmer told the national company
that he was bottling 100% deer urine with no preservative. The national company was interested in licensing
our SCENT-AMMO®. When we did the demonstration with their scent and it took several days and
additional SCENT-AMMO®, we confronted the deer farmer. Sure enough, he admitted that he was using
Sodium Benzoate. The national company Representative said they were unaware the deer farmer was using
a preservative. We decided not to pursue a relationship with the national company to license SCENT-
AMMO®.
1. SCENT-AMMO® works best on 100% urine, but it will absorb Ammonia in any urine-based scent. If
the product is 100% urine, with no preservatives and no additives, one packet of SCENT-AMMO® will
repair an ounce of urine in about 24-48 hours. Any urine scent that smells like Ammonia, is at around
9.5 pH. About 500 times more caustic than when it came out of the animal.
2. As SCENT-AMMO® absorbs the Ammonia, it also reduces the pH of the scent back toward neutral
(pH 7)
Note: You can speed up the repair process to 24 hours for a scent that shows it
was repaired with 1/2 Packet of SCENT-AMMO® in 48 hours, by using the entire
packet of SCENT-AMMO®
