should learn. The art of duck calling revolves on timing, speed, irregularity, frequency and location to bring in

Basic Quack (a clean, crisp, 'quaCK' not ‘qa, qa, qa’)
Greeting Call (a steady even rhythm of 5 to 7 "Kanc, Kanc, Kanc, Kanc, Kanc." notes in descending order)
Feeding Call (say "tikkitukkatikka," into the call raising and lowering the volume slightly. The actual sound
ducks make while feeding is a broken up and erratic sound, like 'da-dit da-dit dit dit, da-dit dit.')
Hail Call (a long, strong, Aaaaaaink...Aaaaaink.., aaaaink, aaainkaink and tapers off as it progresses)
Comeback Call (an urgent and rapid sound of about 5-7 notes, like Kanckanc, Kanc, Kanc, Kanc" )
The Lonsesome Hen (widely spaced, irregular, nasal, drawn-out "Quaaaaink" quacks)
The Pleading Call or begging hail call (a series of 5 t o 6 quacks "Kaaanc, Kanc, Kanc, Kanc" sounds,
drawn-out, a slightly faster variation of the comeback)
The Whistling Call (Mallard, Pintail and Wigeon) whistling in conjunction with mallard calling.

Helpful Hints:

Hold the call at the base of your
index finger and thumb and
press the barrel to your lips to
ensure a tight seal. Open your
hand as you blow while forcing
the air from your diaphragm.
The reeds and wedge should be
all the way in.

The Buck Expert® Mallard Duck Call in Camo
can perfectly mimic the (8) crucial duck
vocalizations! The call tone variations are easily
controlled using the sound hole. The double reed
mallard call provides greater call volume while
requiring less air.
