In many states hunting on Sunday’s is illegal. In some it is not. I happen to
live in a state where hunting on Sunday’s is illegal. What is very odd about
this regulation is that in this state you can fish on Sunday’s, you can buy
lottery tickets on Sunday’s, and you can buy alcohol on Sunday’s. So why are
we restricted from hunting on Sunday’s? The reason behind it is, that if we
were allowed to hunt on Sunday’s, church attendance would be minimized.
There were enough people with a loud enough voice to have this law put into
effect. So, if you live in a state where hunting on Sunday’s is illegal, we must
unite with others of the same beliefs and together our voices will be loud
enough to have this law changed.
In my opinion we should have the option of hunting on Sunday’s. Like most
red-blooded Americans I have a public job. The hours vary some, but I’m still
required to work Monday through Friday. I have 2 days off per week, unless
we have to work overtime. That allows me the opportunity to hunt (2) days
and enjoy what I love doing. However, I live in North Carolina and I am only
able to hunt on Saturday. Luckily I bow hunt so my season is longer than
other hunters. However, if I was restricted to Saturday only, that would leave
me 15 days to hunt. That’s providing I did not have to work or have other
issues to attend to. Having the option to hunt on Sunday’s would easily
double my hunting season.
Hunters should be able to decide for themselves what to do with their
weekends. But it will take a union of hunters to press this issue to the correct
chain of command to get this accomplished. What would you do? Does your
opinion differ from mine?
